Leave No Trace Trainer Course

Learn how to teach Leave No Trace Skills and Ethics

Trainer courses are designed for educators, guides, agency employees, outdoor professionals, and all who possess a passion for responsible recreation. Successful graduates of the Trainer Course gain the skills necessary to OFFICIALLY TEACH Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops to their clients, friends and family.

Participants learn the concepts of Leave No Trace and prepare to teach Leave No Trace curriculum in a variety of settings such as- schools, camps, parks, wilderness and front country areas.  All graduates will receive a Trainer Certificate, and have the ability to conduct Leave No Trace Awareness Workshops.  Course topics include the underlying seven principles which make up the skills and ethics of Leave No Trace:

  • Plan Ahead and Prepare
  • Travel and Camp on Durable Surfaces
  • Dispose of Waste Properly 
  • Leave What You Find
  • Minimize Campfire Impacts
  • Respect Wildlife
  • Be Considerate of Other Visitors

*Please note, cancellations prior to 14 days of the training will be refunded all moneys paid less a $20 handling fee. Cancellations between 3 and 14 days before the training will forfeit their deposit (50%). Cancellations less than 3 days before the training will forfeit the full price of the training.

Leave No Trace Trainings is a North Coast Adventure Centers Inc. Innovative Partnership. NCAC has teamed up with Leave No Trace Traveling Trainers and Master Educators Topher Marlatt and Alexis Ollar to offer this course.  North Coast Adventure Centers operates under special use permits from Six Rivers National Forest, California State Parks, the City of Arcata (CA), the City of Eureka (CA), and the Bureau of Land Management.
