Canopy Tour Guide Level 1

Canopy tours now available in most regions of the US and the World. This fast growing industry requires trained guides. 

 

This North Coast Adventure Centers canopy guide training will cover the key aspects of guiding clients safely. We will teach you how to prepare the client for the experience including various ways of teaching a ground school. We will review the fundamentals of both your personal safety and the client’s safety including gear inspection, proper wearing of helmets and harnesses, belay techniques, safety commands. You will learn proper zip line sequencing, pre-zip safety checks, pulley attachment and placement, braking techniques and proper communications between guides.   Note this course only includes conscious rescue techniques.

 

North Coast Adventure Centers is partnered with Humboldt State Universities office of Extended Education (California State University).  We offer 2 units of Recreation and Natural Resources Interpretation credit to community members and High School students that are at least Juniors with at 3.0 GPA or greater.  

 

*Please note, cancellations prior to 14 days of the training will be refunded all moneys paid less a $20 handling fee. Cancellations between 3 and 14 days before the training will forfeit their deposit (50%). Cancellations less than 3 days before the training will forfeit the full price of the training.


Canopy Tour Guide Training is a North Coast Adventure Centers ORIGINAL PROGRAM. We operate under special use permits from Six Rivers National Forest, California State Parks, the City of Arcata (CA), the City of Eureka (CA), and the Bureau of Land Management.
