Segway to the Marsh

Segway to the Marsh
You may soon be sharing the trail with gyroscopic 'personal mobility devices'

Jon O'Connor's a little bemused that some people are freaking out on a local birding blog about his proposal to run Segway tours in the Arcata Marsh and the Arcata Community Forest.

North Coast Adventure Centers kicked off our training season this past weekend with our Ropes Course Facilitator 1 Training.  Participants experienced twenty hours of training focused on developing both hard and soft challenge course facilitator skills.  After an evening of focusing on key concepts, and belay training at Far North Climbing Gym, we moved to the Arcata Ropes Course located in beautiful Redwood Park.

Mountain Bike tours are still available all fall with NCAC, and what better time than September in Humboldt County?  The weather's warm, the trails are dry, and routes are prime.  Contact us to take advantage of this awesome opportunity to tour some of Humboldt's finest trails while in their finest shape of the season.

Cheers

Hello outdoor enthusiasts!

This is Matt DeShazo and this is my first blog as well as first report about our first trip out to Moonstone Beach.

For being the first ever commercial rock climbing trip in Humboldt it went without a hitch!  Taking a young mother and her 10 year child outside rock climbing on a hot sunny day at the beach was both exciting and educational.  It was a two day trip that started and ended at Far North Climbing Gym.  I was really excited to finally get to integrate outdoor climbing with the gym.  It is a big step in a great direction for us as a climbing community and a facility.

Until next time!
