What's on tap for 2011!

Today marks my first week as NCAC's Full Time Program Director.  Looking to the future we are excited for a variety of programs that NCAC will offer in the next year.  We are continuing to promoting some of NCAC's core programs such as our Vocational Training Series, and our Adventure Tours and Expeditions, as well as introducing some new offerings in 2011.

On tap this year, NCAC is proud to expand our offerings with the City of Arcata's Recreation Division.  In addition to our Wednesday Ropes Courses with Redwood Day Camp, we will be offering an Adventure Camp option in the the afternoons for campers age 10-14, and a Teen Adventure Guide Camp to develop outdoor guiding skills for campers age 14-17. Goto the City of Arcata's Recreation Division website for more information on dates and times.

This Summer, NCAC will launch our first annual Moonstone Beach multi-sport camp with our kayak partner Humboats and our surf vendor Humboldt Ocean Adventures Surf Camp.  The camp will offer rock climbing, sea kayaking, surfing, skim boarding, river crossings, raft building, yoga warmups, and a variety of games and challenges.  We will host two sessions of camp during the weeks of July 5th-8th and August 8th-12th for ages 10-17.  Registration begins March 15th, so stay tuned for more details as they become available on our website.

NCAC has partnered with the National Outdoor Leadership School "NOLS" to offer a College Semester program with a variety of trainings for college credit, as well as a week long backpacking expedition.  We will make an official announcement so check back soon for more details.

Finally, NCAC wants to introduce our newest member of the team, Butch!  Butch is our Mechanical Bull that is available for events and parties, or where ever fun and excitement is needed.  More information will become available on our website soon, or feel free to call us at your convenience, 800-808-2836.

NCAC is psyched to offer a wider array of offerings this year, and plans on offering the same level of excellence and customer service the community has come to know from our organization.  Hope to see you out and about

Happy Trails,

Topher Marlatt, Program Director
